It is no secret why Wisconsin was ranked the second most bicycle friendly state in the United States by the Leaque of American Bicyclists in 2008 and 2009. Green County, in the southern part of Wisconsion, is a paradise for bicycling:
- * Road biking on 273 miles of paved, low traffic county trunk roads
- * Terrain includes both flats and hills
- * Recreational trails totaling 73 miles, including a covered bridge and spooky tunnel
- * Local color includes cheese factories, breweries, and Amish businesses
- * Nearby the proposed course for the 2016 Olympics
Brodhead, Wisconsin was founded 150 years ago by a railroad engineer after whom the town was named. Just as railroads were seen as an efficient means of transportation then, we've embraced the bicycle as a efficient means of transportation and recreation now.
